Greg’s Story

The Greg Krause Memorial Helmet Fund mission is to raise awareness and funding for local bicycle safety programs in Harford County, Maryland.   In cooperation with the Harford County Goverment, local cycling organizations, service shops and our business sponsors, funding has been established to supply bicycle helmets for our youth.

History

The Greg Krause Memorial Helmet Fund was founded in 2009 shortly after the untimely death of our friend and avid cyclist, Greg Krause. Greg had just learned that Harford County had lost its funding for the bike helmet safety and awareness program that was coordinated by the Harford County government and Sheriff’s office. The day before he died, Greg asked if there was something we, fellow cyclists, could do to fill the gap in the program and provide funding for this worthwhile cause. As tribute to Greg, his wife and friends, all fellow cyclists, decided to establish a memorial fund in his honor and memory.
